Seattle’s ODESZA—producers Catacombkid and BeachesBeaches—craft an ethereal fusion of future house and chillwave. This third album experiments with celestial textures and percussive elements, while some diverse and carefully recruited collaborators further elevate their futuristic sound. Naomi Wild’s heady vocals turn “Higher Ground” into glorious dream pop, the quietly euphoric “Across the Room” benefits from Leon Bridges’ easy soul, while “Late Night” doesn’t require a starry guest. A mature update on the pair’s early EDM wins, its hypnotic beat and surging hook is made for Balearic dance floors.
