About Saliva
Saliva is a American hard rock band that has melded hip-hop, post-grunge, and punk into an enduring heavy sound.
∙ Formed in 1996 by singer Josey Scott and other seasoned Memphis musicians, the group’s self-titled debut album was a local hit.
∙ Their sophomore LP, 2001’s Every Six Seconds, went double Platinum and produced the hit “Your Disease,” which received a 2001 Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance.
∙ Between 2001 and 2008, Saliva had 13 consecutive Top 40 singles on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart, including “Always,” which also topped the Alternative Airplay chart.
∙ Scott’s duet with Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger, “Hero”—the lead single from the 2002 film Spider-Man—became an international hit and earned three Grammy nominations.
∙ Saliva’s “I Walk Alone” was the entrance theme for pro wrestler Batista—aka actor Dave Bautista of Guardians of the Galaxy fame—from 2005 until his 2019 retirement.
∙ The best-selling single and a No. 2 Rock hit “Ladies and Gentlemen,” from 2007’s Blood Stained Love Story, was the official theme song for World Wrestling Entertainment’s WrestleMania 23.
